The Challenge
The rapidly changing environment and technology are making it difficult to predict future career opportunities. Today, we cannot navigate this complex future by looking at the rear-view mirror.
Furthermore, traditional linear career choices do not necessarily guarantee “success”.
How can we then prepare ourselves and our youth for the 21st century that offers vast unconventional, inter-disciplinary and intra-disciplinary opportunities?
The Solution
SAF developed a simple career framework where the intersection of the students’ Interest, Aptitude and Opportunity available will lead them to a meaningful career. This framework helps students differentiate between a Career, Hobby, Job and Dream and make rational choices throughout their careers.
To enable students to kick-off their journey, SAF launched Career Mitra, a holistic career guidance program for grade 10 students of government and government-aided state board schools.
Interest is assessed across 7 fields:
Agriculture
Arts
Commerce
Fine Arts
Health & Life Sciences
Technical
Uniformed Services
Aptitudes is assessed in 4 areas
Verbal
Logical
Numerical
Spatial
How it works
1. Test Conduction
Students take an Interest and Aptitude Test on a mobile app in their school.
Real-time data makes it possible for state, district and taluka level coordinators to monitor progress of the project.
2. Result Declaration
Students check their result on the Career Mitra website or mobile app.
The students can search for institutes and courses in their district which are aligned to their field of interest.
Students, teachers and parents can access information videos and articles on each interest field and listen to messages from experts.
